First Time for Everything

The old saying goes “There’s a first time for everything”…

That is proving true for me this week. I finally worked up the courage to shoot my very first YouTube video! If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter you know we had our first Bookshark box day. I am 5’4″ and this mountain of boxes is almost as tall as me!

My children were a little overwhelmed, but this mama was dancing for joy when the FedEx truck pulled up and started carrying box after box to our door! Want to see what’s in one of those boxes? Check out my video below. I am starting with my 5th Grader’s 2017-2018 Bookshark Level 3 Full Grade Package.

As you can probably tell, I was supppppper NERVOUS! I need to work on the lighting a bit too. Since our school room is in the basement we do not get the best natural light, and when I tried to film upstairs there was a terrible echo due to really high ceilings.

Phew! That’s it… I did it!

If you made it through that lengthy video, thank you for sticking around! Don’t want to miss my future YouTube videos? Visit my channel and hit subscribe.

As you can tell that is a HUGE curriculum haul. I did a blog post a few weeks back with all the details. You can read all about Jack’s 5th Grade curriculum here. Do you have a YouTube channel? I would love to see what all of you are up to! Comment below with your link.

  1. Loved watching your video! I thought you did a great job for your first time 🙂 Made me feel like I was sitting right in your room talking curriculum with you!! Can’t wait to see how your year goes. Looks like you have some fun stuff!

    1. Yay! I’m happy that you enjoyed the video. I really wanted my viewers to be comfortable. Thank you for always taking the time to follow our journey. I can’t wait to get started with everything and to share our year with everyone.

  2. Great video!! Excited to hear how your year goes. I too am using Bookshark Level 3 with my 10 yr old. He was overwhelmed with the amount of books, but with his love/obsession with Am. History, I think it will be a good fit.

    1. Thank you Michelle! I think it is easy for them to get the overwhelmed, but there are so many amazing books in this level that I believe most children will love it. I can’t wait to share our year with everyone!
