7th Grade Homeschool Curriculum

Do you have a 7th grader? Today I will be sharing my 7th grade homeschool curriculum picks for Julia.

Yesterday I shared our overall 2017-2018 homeschool plans. I really struggled making decisions for Jack's 5th grade year, but I knew immediately what I wanted to use for Julia's 7th grade homeschool curriculum. All three of my children are using boxed curriculum from Bookshark as their core. I have selected Level 7 All Subject Package for Julia. This level is geared towards children ages 12-14. Julia just turned 12 at the end of July, so she could easily use Level 6 or 7. Level 7 included a few of the books that I wanted to read with Julia this year, so Level 7 was the better fit.

What does Bookshark's Level 7 include? How did I customize it?

Below you will find everything included in the Level 7 All Subject Package. I will note any customization selections I made.

Will we be using anything other than Bookshark Level 7 for our 7th grade homeschool curriculum?

We will mostly be sticking to our Bookshark materials. However, before moving on to the Teaching Textbooks Pre-Algebra provided in her bundle, Julia will be completing Teaching Textbooks 7. At the end of her 6th grade year I switched her from Singapore Math to Teaching Textbooks. We have been working through this level all summer, but still have a bit to go before she can start Pre-Algebra.

Julia was very excited about the Stopmotion Explosion that I selected for Jack's STEM work this year, so they will be sharing it. I'm pretty excited that she showed interest in this because she will be able to take the lead and work on it with Jack when I am busy teaching Kenten. I have to be honest-I don't know much about stopmotion... This will surely be a learning experience for all of us!

Julia is my artsy child. She is ALWAYS drawing and trying out different art supplies. I have purchased the following items for her to use as she wishes. Do you want to purchase these materials for your child? Simply click one of the images below and you will be redirected to Amazon.

Will we participate in the homeschool partnership this year?

Starting in September we will be attending classes at our local homeschool partnership every Thursday. When picking out materials for this upcoming year I was really concerned about being able to complete everything since a whole day is dedicated to this program. Although we school year round, our summer schedule is significantly "lighter". I believe choosing Bookshark Level 7 All Subject Package as our main curriculum will be a great fit for us and we will be able to stay on track (without this mama having to rearrange everything a million times)! Julia is enrolled in the following courses this year:

  • Introduction to Drawing
  • Learning Through Cinema: Middle School
  • Beginning Sewing
